Terms of Service

1. Service description
Bonjournal is an AI-powered language learning journaling service operated by Tom Keysers. Users write journal entries in foreign languages and receive AI-generated grammar corrections, style improvements, and coaching feedback. By using Bonjournal, you agree to these Terms of Service.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Bonjournal to:
- Submit content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or otherwise objectionable.
- Attempt to manipulate or abuse the AI analysis system.
- Use automated tools or bots to submit entries.
- Interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure.
- Impersonate another person or entity.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
4. Subscriptions and billing
Bonjournal offers the following plans:
- Free: 10 journal entries per month at no cost.
- Daily (€5/month): 30 entries per month with full AI feedback.
- Pro (€15/month): 100 entries per month with advanced feedback.
Paid subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe. You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or the Stripe customer portal. Upon cancellation, you retain access to your paid plan until the end of the current billing period, after which your account reverts to the Free plan. Refunds are not provided for partial billing periods.
5. AI-generated content
Corrections, coaching feedback, and progress scores are generated by artificial intelligence. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors or inaccuracies. Bonjournal's feedback should be used as a learning aid and is not a substitute for professional language instruction. We make no guarantees about the accuracy or completeness of AI-generated corrections.
6. Your content
You retain full ownership of the journal entries you write on Bonjournal. By submitting content, you grant us a limited license to process your text through our AI systems solely for the purpose of providing the service (generating corrections and feedback). We do not share, sell, or use your journal content for any other purpose.
7. Limitation of liability
Bonjournal is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, use, or profits, arising out of or related to your use of the service.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to Bonjournal at any time for conduct that we determine violates these Terms of Service or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at hello@bonjournal.app.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you via email or through a notice on the service. Your continued use of Bonjournal after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
